भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने 2000 रुपयांच्या सर्वात मोठ्या चलनी नोटेबाबत मोठा निर्णय घेतला आहे. 2016 च्या नोटाबंदीनंतर जारी करण्यात आलेल्या 2000 रुपयांच्या नोटा मागे घेण्याची घोषणा RBI ने केली आहे. मात्र, सध्या बाजारात 2000 च्या नोटा चलनात राहतील. रिझर्व्ह बँक ऑफ इंडियाने देशातील बँकांना ग्राहकांना 2000 रुपयांच्या नव्या नोटा देणे बंद करण्याचा सल्ला दिला आहे. ‘क्लीन नोट पॉलिसी’अंतर्गत रिझर्व्ह बँकेने हा निर्णय घेतला आहे. 2000 रुपयांच्या नोटा 30 सप्टेंबर 2023 पर्यंत बँकेत जमा करता येतील. रिझर्व्ह बँकेच्या म्हणण्यानुसार, 23 मे 2023 पासून कोणत्याही बँकेत 2000 रुपयांच्या नोटा एका वेळी इतर मूल्यांच्या नोटांसाठी बदलल्या जाऊ शकतात. नोट बदलण्याची मर्यादा 20,000 रुपये आहे. म्हणजेच 20000 रुपयांच्या नोटा एकाच वेळी बदलल्या जातील.
2016 मध्ये नोटाबंदीनंतर रिझर्व्ह बँकेने 2000 रुपयांची नोट जारी केली होती. गेल्या काही महिन्यांपासून बाजारात 2000 रुपयांच्या नोटा कमी दिसत होत्या. एटीएममधून 2000 रुपयांच्या नोटाही बाहेर येत नसल्याचे लोकांनी सांगितले. या संदर्भात सरकारने संसदेत माहितीही दिली होती. The Reserve Bank of India has taken a big decision on the biggest currency 2000 rupee note. RBI has announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 notes issued after the demonetisation of 2016. However, the 2000 notes present in the market will remain in circulation for the time being. The Reserve Bank of India has advised the country’s banks to stop issuing new Rs 2000 notes to customers. The Reserve Bank has taken this decision under the ‘Clean Note Policy’. 2000 rupee notes can be deposited in the bank till 30 September 2023.
According to the Reserve Bank, from May 23, 2023, notes of 2000 rupees can be exchanged for notes of other denominations at a time in any bank. Note exchange limit is Rs 20,000. That is, 20000 rupee notes will be changed in one go.
